Man's Needing Regeneration

"Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless one is born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3)

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that every one who believes into Him would not perish, but would have eternal life." (John 3:16)

When Nicodemus came to the Lord Jesus, the Lord took the opportunity to reveal the true need of mankind. In His conversation with Nicodemus, the Lord revealed that regardless of how good we are, we still need regeneration… Moral people, as well as immoral people, need regeneration.

[Nicodemus] might have thought that he needed better teachings to improve himself. But the Lord's answer in [John 3:3] unveiled to him that his need was to be born anew. To be born anew is to be regenerated with the divine life, a life other than the human life received by natural birth. Hence, his real need was not better teachings, but the divine life. Nicodemus was seeking for teachings which belong to the tree of knowledge, but the Lord's answer turned him to the need of life, which belongs to the tree of life… All of us must realize that what we need is not religion or teaching to regulate and correct us, but another life, the life of God, to regenerate us. Man needs regeneration because he needs the divine life. Regardless of how good you are, you still do not have the life of God. You need another birth in order to receive the life of God with His divine nature. (Life's Regenerating—The Need of the Moral, pp. 9, 11-12)

LA Truth School

"In Him was life, and the life was the light of men." (John 1:4)

This weekend the church in LA will begin its 2022 Truth School for our junior high and high school young people (July 22 to 30). The topic is "Life in the Gospel of John." Please pray for the Lord to prepare the hearts of the YP to be open to His word and appearing during this time. Also, pray for the Lord to bless the atmosphere and coordination among those serving.

College Trainings

Last week's Southwest College Training at Oak Glen was blessed by the Lord in a special way through all of the prayers of the saints! 306 saints attended mainly from California, Nevada, Arizona, and Texas, including 220 college students. This includes 37 students and 12 serving ones from LA. The atmosphere in the training ascended day by day, reaching a peak with some sobering words concerning being saved from this crooked generation by positively giving ourselves to build the ark today by fully entering into the church life! Not only did the Lord gain ground in the hearts of the students, He also greatly encouraged many through this precious, in-person blending that they had not experienced for the last two years. We also thank the Lord for keeping everyone healthy to participate in the meetings—only one person in the entire training tested positive for Covid in the very last meeting.

Please pray that the students would immediately apply what they heard and take practical steps to enter into the corporate church life this week! Pray that they would continue to encourage one another to continue steadfastly in the word, prayer, meetings of the church, and day-by-day and house-to-house church life! May they be preserved from Satan's hand to meet God's need today!

Meanwhile, the remaining regional trainings will take place this week from July 20 to 24 in Athens, Georgia; Champaign, Illinois; and Seattle, Washington. Around 650 saints are expected. May the Lord flow out in a mighty way to all of the attendees and that they would be inspired to be today's Noahs, building the ark to fulfill God's purpose and turn this age. In particular, pray for the students and serving ones in the midwest as the Lord is multiplying in a particular way in this area and the training there has almost 100 more saints attending than they were originally expecting!

Being Brought on to Maturity

Continue to pray for the word released during the July Semiannual Training on 1 and 2 Kings to enlighten, nourish, and motivate the saints to go on from the tabernacle church life to the temple church life for the building up of Zion, the overcomers.

Nordic-Baltic Conference

This summer's Nordic-Baltic Conference from July 22 to 25 will be held in a hybrid format and hosted by the churches in Stockholm and Uppsala, Sweden. Please pray for the Lord's timely speaking and for the blending of the saints in the Nordic countries, the Baltic States, and other Russian and English-speaking churches for the building up of the Body of Christ.

Ukraine

Please continue to pray that the Lord will use the shepherding gospel trips in key cities in Europe to bring the chosen ones among the Ukrainian refugees to believe into Christ and enter into the church life. Also pray for the saints in Russia and Ukraine to be kept in the oneness of the Body and the reality of the new man, where Christ is all the members and in all the members, and for the shipment of Russian NT Recovery Versions held up in customs to be released and distributed among the refugees in Europe

A reminder from the footnote on 1 Kings 8:48: "No matter for whom we are praying, our prayers should be aimed at the interests of God, i.e., at Christ and the church as God's interests on earth, for the fulfilling of God's economy."

Brazil – São Paolo Meeting Hall

Recently, there was fellowship concerning the acquisition of a suitable property that could serve the church in São Paolo as well as the work of the Lord in Brazil and even all of South America. The price including repairs is US$1,563,600; $800,000 is still needed. The full payment is due by mid-August.

Please pray for the financial need to be met and for all necessary repairs to be completed in a timely manner. As the Lord leads, saints may give through the church in LA designated for 'Sao Paolo'.

India

Please pray for the new term of FTT New Delhi, which starts on July 18, that the Lord will release at least 20 new trainees this coming term.

Week of July 10

Being Brought on to Maturity

"Not that I have already obtained or am already perfected, but I pursue." (Phil. 3:12a)

"…Let us be brought on to maturity." (Heb. 6:1a)

"Much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ." (Rom. 5:17b)

Solomon was a man full of natural ability but not a man of life, a man whose wisdom was a gift, not a measure of life. We should not have any trust in our natural being in the things of God; rather, we must learn to reject our natural being and exercise our spirit in everything for the organic building up of the Body of Christ. (Crystallization-study of 1 and 2 Kings, msg. 5, III, B)

The Lord within us is aspiring to go on. (Msg. 6, I)

The genuine Christian life is the life of an overcomer. If we have not reached the level of a king in our Christian life, we are still below the proper standard; we may say that we enjoy Christ, but to what degree, to what extent, do we enjoy Christ? God's complete salvation is for us to be saved in the life of Christ to reign in this life by the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness. (Msg. 12, I, B, D)

Lord, train us to receive Your abundance daily that we may have a rich supply to minister to others for the organic building of Your Body!

Entering into the Ministry of the Age

"Now David, having served his own generation by the counsel of God..." (Acts 13:36)

"For the perfecting of the saints unto the work of the ministry, unto the building up of the Body of Christ." (Eph. 4:12)

In every age the Lord has special things that He wants to accomplish. The particular recovery and work that He does in one age is the ministry of that age. In the Old Testament, Noah had the ministry of that age to build the ark, Moses had the ministry of that age to build the tabernacle, and David and Solomon had the ministry of that age to build the temple.

Jonathan stood between Saul and David. He was one man standing between two ministries. He should have followed the second ministry, but because his relationship with the first ministry was too deep, he could not disentangle himself. It is God's mercy that a person can see and come into contact with the ministry of the age, yet it is altogether a different thing for a person to take up the courage to forsake past ministries and enter into God's present ministry.

May the Lord open our eyes to see that as long as we are human beings, we should be Christians; as long as we are Christians, we should enter into the Lord's ministry in this age. (Crystallization-study of 1 & 2 Samuel, msg. 12, III.D.1-2, D, D.6, 5)

Southwest College Training

This summer, five regional college trainings are being held around the US with a total expected attendance of over 1100 saints. Each college training is five days in length and has high potential for greatly deepening the Lord's work in the attending college students, especially the incoming freshmen. The title for the college training is "As in the Days of Noah."

The Southwest College Training, which includes Southern California, takes place this week from July 13 to 17 at Oak Glen. Around 300 saints are expected, including 39 students and 12 serving ones from LA. Please pray that the Lord would flow out in a mighty way to all of the attendees and that they would:

freshly touch the Lord personally in the morning;
be ready and willing to exercise their spirit;
remain healthy and safe, including while traveling;
endeavor to contribute to the fellowship in small group sessions; and
be inspired to be today's Noahs, building the ark to fulfill God's purpose and turn this age!

Bibles for America

We're so thankful to the Lord for all His provision in caring for the staff at BfA. As they labor in oneness with our Savior God's desire to sound out the word of the Lord, your intercession before the throne to cover and sustain their being and their work is treasured more than ever. Pray that they would continue to enjoy the Lord as their source, way, and goal and as the rich supply for their service, and remember their "work of faith, labor of love, and endurance of hope" in Christ on behalf of His interest.

Brazil – São Paolo Meeting Hall

For many years the brothers serving in the work in Brazil have been praying to the Lord with a view of acquiring a property that could serve the church in São Paolo as well as the work of the Lord in Brazil and even all of South America. Recently, a suitable property was found. This four-story building, which has 18,836 square feet of usable space, could serve as a meeting hall for 500 people with upper floors used for children's meetings, publication work, and more. The basement also has a parking garage.

The price of the property including needed repairs is US$1,563,600; approximately $800,000 is still needed. A deposit of $60,000 has been made; the rest of the payment will be due in mid-August. In addition to the churches and saints in Brazil, this need is being opened to the fellowship in the Body.

Please pray for the financial need to be met and for all necessary repairs to be completed in a timely manner. As the Lord leads, saints may give through the church in LA designated for 'Sao Paolo'.

Ukraine

Please continue to pray for the ruling of the heavens over the entire situation and for the Lord to use the shepherding gospel trips to Warsaw, Kraków, and Wrocław, Poland, in June and July to bring many to believe into Christ and lead many newly saved ones into the church life, where they can be perfected to be living and functioning members for the building up of the Body

Sri Lanka

Pray for the economic situation to be recovered that the saints would receive the Lord's abounding grace without shortage and that all the church activities would be intensified without hindrance.

Week of July 3

July Semiannual Training

The July Semiannual Training taking place this week in Anaheim (in-person) and LA (webcast) will cover the crystals in 1 and 2 Kings. Please pray that the Lord will richly anoint the release and receiving of His word and take a further step in His move on earth to build up His Body and prepare His bride for His coming back.

May we all enter into the divine truths in the Word that the Lord has released through His ministry by means of this training until we are constituted with these truths, enjoy the Lord as life according to these truths, and minister Him to others for the fulfillment of God's eternal purpose.

The Warring Christ and the Warring Church

"Let us rejoice and exult, and let us give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. And it was given to her that she should be clothed in fine linen, bright and clean." (Rev 19:7-8a)

"His name is called the Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven followed Him on white horses, dressed in fine linen, white and clean." (Rev. 19:13b-14)

The church is both the bride who is presented to Christ and the warrior who fights with Him against God's enemy. At His coming again, the Lord Jesus firstly will meet His bride. After receiving the bride, Christ and the overcomers will enter into battle against the enemy.

In Revelation 19:7 and 8 we see that the bride is clothed in "fine linen, bright and clean." Then in verse 14 we see that the armies which follow the Lord into battle are "dressed in fine linen, white and clean." These verses indicate that the bride's wedding garment will also be the uniform she wears as God's army to fight against His enemy.

In Ephesians 5 and 6 we see the church as the bride and as the warrior. In Revelation 19 we also have these two aspects of the church… As the bride, we must be beautiful, without spot or wrinkle, and be clothed in fine linen. As the warrior, we must be equipped to fight against God's enemy. (Life-study of Ephesians, pp. 814-815)

FTTA

Last weekend, 89 trainees graduated from the FTTA, 15 from FTTA-XB, and 45 from FTTA-MA. Please continue to pray for all these ones to follow the Lamb wherever He may go, including the newly announced GTCA target cities and campus teams (see below). Pray also for many college graduates, young working saints, and middle aged saints to answer God's call to go to the training next term.

Week of June 26

Eating at the King's Table Continually

"And Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem because he ate at the king's table continually. And he was crippled in both his feet." (2 Sam. 9:13)

"Looking away unto Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith." (Heb. 12:2a)

All of us are like Mephibosheth, the grandson of King Saul (2 Sam. 4:4). Mephibosheth was lame; he was unable to walk. King David preserved his life, restored to him all his inheritance, and invited him to feast with him at the same table (9:1-13). After Mephibosheth received grace from David, he only looked at the riches on David's table; he did not look at his two lame legs underneath the table.

Whenever we look at ourselves, we discover that we are lame, and we become discouraged. After we have been saved, we should forget about our two lame legs and sit at the table of our King, Jesus Christ, to enjoy Him with all His unsearchable riches. We should only look at the riches on the Lord's table and enjoy them. By our enjoyment of the unsearchably rich Christ, He will transform us. (CWWL, 1965, vol. 2, "The Tree of Life," p. 200)

July Semiannual Training

The goal of Brother Lee's burden to hold semiannual trainings was to release the riches of Christ for the producing and the building up of the church as the testimony of Jesus and the reality of the Body of Christ. Brother Lee said, "If the saints are not properly constituted with the truth, they cannot live a proper life. If they only live by inspiration and not by the constitution of the truth, I do not trust in that kind of living to be a testimony of the Lord" (Elders' Training Book 3, p. 144).

It is only by having the divine truth in the Word thoroughly wrought into us that we can live and magnify Christ in our daily life, preach the gospel to the unbelievers, and present the truth and minister life to the seeking believers, thereby becoming the prevailing testimony of Jesus, the living Body of Christ. The upcoming July Semiannual Training will be held in-person in Anaheim from July 4 to 9 and by webcast in Los Angeles and around the world. The training will cover the crystals in 1 and 2 Kings. Please pray that the Lord will richly anoint the release and receiving of His word and take a further step in His move on earth to build up His Body and prepare His bride for His coming back.

FTTA Graduations

"Because out from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen." (Rom. 11:36)

This Saturday, July 2 at 9:30 am, the graduation meeting for the 2022 Spring Class of the FTTA, including a recognition of the FTTA-XB (Boston Extension) trainees, will be held at the Ministry Conference Center on the LSM campus. This meeting will also be streamed live at http://www.ftta.org.

In the afternoon, beginning at 4:00 pm, the graduation meeting for the FTTA-MA (Middle Age) will be held at 1855 W Ball Rd in Anaheim. This meeting will also be streamed live on Zoom.

Please pray for the Lord's leading of:

all graduating trainees—89 FTTA, 15 XB, and 45 MA—to follow the Lamb wherever He may go;
some to join in His move in one of the GTCA cities and cities with new campus teams;
many college graduates, young working saints, and middle aged saints to answer God's call to go to the training next term.

GTCA

The burden to "gospelize, truthize, and churchize" America continues! Since 2020, a total of 375 saints have migrated to strengthen the Lord's testimony in 10 target cities and eight new campus teams began to function—five are complete and three are still building. This move has been supported through prayer, fellowship in one accord, and financial giving from the saints and churches.

Please pray that many saints, families, and full-timers will respond to the call to migrate to the following new target cities and campus teams:

Week of June 19

Spiritual Metabolism and the Organic Building

"But we all with unveiled face, beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, even as from the Lord Spirit." (2 Cor. 3:18)

God's economy is to work Himself into us so that we may experience a metabolic process of spiritual digestion and assimilation that produces transformation as a gradual and intrinsic metabolic change in our natural life; this is for the building up of the Body of Christ to consummate the New Jerusalem.

In order for God's building to take place, we need to receive, digest, and assimilate the organic, pneumatic Christ, who is the life-giving Spirit, as our spiritual food, drink, and breath. When we enjoy Christ by eating, drinking, and breathing Him, a metabolic process, a spiritual digestion and metabolism, takes place within us, and Christ is constituted into our being; this inner metabolism is transformation, and transformation is the building.

The organic building up of the church as the Body of Christ through the process of spiritual metabolism is actually what Jehovah prophesied to David in the way of typology in 2 Samuel 7:12-14a. (CS 1 and 2 Samuel, msg. 9, II.E-F)

Please pray for our young people to stay connected, have many experiences of the Lord, and register for the Truth School.

Northeast College Training

Laos

At present, there are four local churches in Laos. The number of saints in the church life is about 290, with the average number attending the Lord's Day meeting being around 150. There is an urgent need for shepherding. May the Lord perfect the saints to grow in life and exercise their organic function that the Body of Christ might be built up and expanded.

A year ago, a family and two sisters received the burden to migrate from the capital Vientiane to Luang Prabang, the fourth-largest city in the country, for the propagation of the Lord's testimony. Since then, despite the pandemic and a difficult environment, the saints faithfully labored in one accord until they experienced a breakthrough and gained one family in a solid way and some gospel friends on the campus. On April 24, the church in Luang Prabang had its first bread-breaking meeting. May the Lord continue to bless His testimony in this city for the advance of His move in Laos.

Lastly, please pray for the literature work in Laos, particularly that the Rhema books, already translated, would be proofread and published this month. Week of June 12

God Becoming Man to Make Man God

"Concerning His Son,...who was designated the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness out of the resurrection of the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord." (Rom. 1:3-4)

"Because those whom He foreknew, He also predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brothers." (Rom. 8:29)

Through His incarnation, crucifixion, and resurrection, Christ, the Son of God, became the firstborn Son, and the many sons, who are the brothers of Christ, are being conformed to His image. In Romans 1:3-4 Christ, the Son of God, is the prototype, whereas in 8:29 the many brothers are those who have been "mass-produced" from the prototype and, by being saved in life, will be conformed to the image of the firstborn Son.

This brings us to the matter of deification and implies that God's intention in His economy is to make Himself man so that, in Christ, we, the believers in Christ and children of God, may become God in life, in nature, and in constitution (but not in the Godhead); such an implication is exceedingly great, and eventually, the Bible consummates with this matter. July Semiannual Video Training Registrations

LA Young People

As our young people enter into their summer break, please pray for them to stay connected, have many experiences of the Lord, and attend the church in LA's 2022 Truth School from July 22 to 30.

FTTA Middle-Age Training

The Fall 2022 term of the FTTA-MA will be from September 12 to December 24. All classes are given in English, Chinese, Korean and Spanish and designed with a full year in view in two 15-week terms. Saints may also attend on a short-term basis.

Please pray for more saints in the Lord's recovery to seize this opportunity to be perfected. All applications must be received by the training office no later than August 23.

Ukraine

The saints in Russia and Ukraine will be kept in the oneness of the Body and the reality of the new man, where Christ is all the members and in all the members.
The shipment of Russian NT Recovery Versions that are held up in customs will be released and be distributed among the refugees in Europe.
The Lord will use the shepherding gospel trips to Warsaw and Krakow, Poland, in June and July to bring many newly saved refugees into the church life, where they can be perfected to be living and functioning members for the building up of the Body.
The tripartite being of saints in besieged cities will be protected and preserved for the Lord's interests.

As the Lord leads, saints may give through the church in Los Angeles designated for 'UKRAINE'.

Sri Lanka

The official languages in Sri Lanka are Sinhala and Tamil, and English is widely used in formal contexts. For translation of the ministry, we mainly focus on Sinhala and obtain materials in Tamil from India. Since the Sinhala NT Recovery Version project began in May 2021, the team has completed all verses, footnotes, and outlines of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. The entire project is scheduled to finish in five years. We are also distributing Rhema books online in both Sinhala and Tamil.

Four saints in Sri Lanka have completed the two-year full-time training. One of them serves on Bible translation, two serve full-time with the trainees and young people, and one takes a job while continuing to be active in the church services.

Please pray for:

The stabilization of the political and economic situation, particularly for the government to be able to deal with the current economic crisis; for the saints who are in need during this time; and for many college students to be open to the gospel and to our shepherding in a time of drastic change.
The seven current full-time trainees and for Lord to release more young people to be trained to become useful vessels to the Lord.
The translation of the Sinhala Recovery Version Bible and the printing of the Gospel of Matthew.
The online distribution of Rhema books that more readers could be gained through our Facebook ads, and for the team of saints tasked with caring for our 2,565 subscribers.

Week of June 5

David Typifying Christ, the Real David

"He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give to Him the throne of David His father, and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end." (Luke 1:32-33)

"For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath." (Matt. 12:8)

The Lord's word in Matthew 12:3-4 implies that He is the real David. David had followers, and Christ, the real David, also had disciples as His followers. All of this implies that David and his followers were a type, a prefigure, of Christ and His disciples. The Lord's word in Matthew 12:3-4 also implies a dispensational change from the priesthood to the kingship. (CS 1 and 2 Samuel, msg. 7, I.B.1, a-b, 2)

In ancient times the coming of David changed the dispensation from the age of the priests to the age of the kings, in which the kings were above the priests. In the age of the priests the leader of the people should listen to the priest (Num. 27:21-22). But in the age of the kings the priest should submit to the king (1 Sam. 2:35-36). Hence, what King David did with his followers was not illegal. Now by the coming of Christ the dispensation has also been changed, this time from the age of the law to the age of grace, in which Christ is above all. Whatever He does is right. The matter of keeping the Sabbath belonged to the old dispensation of the law. But in the age of grace Christ has the final word. It is not a matter of law but of Christ. (The Conclusion of the New Testament, p. 721)

Ukraine

Since the war began on February 24, more than 6.6 million refugees have fled, mainly into Eastern Europe. Poland has received the bulk of the refugees—about 3.5 million. Another 700,000 have gone to Germany. In response, the saints have ministered to them through seven gospel trips in April and May, the last one concluding on June 5.

Through our meeting facility in Warsaw, Poland, and conference center in Gut Elim, in the heart of Germany, most of the 300 saints who have been evacuated have found refuge and comfort. In addition, the white horse of the gospel has been running. As a result, many thousands of the refugees have been contacted, with hundreds being saved and now desiring the fellowship.

There is a great need to feed the lambs. Therefore, two additional trips are being planned to focus primarily on shepherding Ukrainian saints, local saints, and new ones. We will concentrate on only two cities—Warsaw and Krakow—so the Lord can strengthen these two important lampstands in Poland.

Please continue to pray for the ruling of the heavens over the entire situation so that:

The Lord will use the shepherding gospel trips to Warsaw and Krakow in June and July to bring many newly saved refugees into the church life, where they can be perfected to be living and functioning members for the building up of the Body.
The saints in Russia and Ukraine will be kept in the oneness of the Body and the reality of the new man, where Christ is all the members and in all the members.
The shipment of Russian New Testament Recovery Versions that are held up in customs will be released and be distributed among the refugees in Europe.
The tripartite being of saints in besieged cities will be protected and preserved for the Lord's interests.

The spiritual forces that seek to destroy the Lord's interests will be shattered, and God's move in His economy will advance.

European Young Peoples' Conference

This summer from July 31 to August 6 will be is the first in-person gathering of young people from across Europe in three years. Please pray for the Lord's leading, guidance and wisdom in all the considerations and preparations. May all the practical needs, including flights, be taken care of, and sufficient burdened serving ones be released. May the Lord meet the particular needs of the young people after the long period of isolation.

Bibles for America

The BfA Blog at http://blog.biblesforamerica.org currently has over 58,000 subscribers from all over the world. Blog posts cover topics related to the Bible and the Christian life, including categories such as Peace vs. Anxiety, Experiencing Jesus, Understanding God's Word, and many more. They highlight key footnotes from the NT Recovery Version and conclude with an offer for a free copy for those who reside in the US. Readers outside the US have still been able to receive the riches of the ministry through the blog posts and downloadable e-books.

Please pray that all those who read these blog posts will continue to feed on the riches in the ministry and grow in the divine life.

Madagascar

Madagascar is an island country off the east coast of Africa. There is currently one lampstand in the capital city, Antananarivo, where a property was purchased in 2020 and a meeting venue built in 2021. There are also saints meeting in four other cities.

Last December, a student training was held in Antananarivo with 40 young saints enjoying messages on "Shepherding for the Building Up of the Body of Christ." Many genuinely received the word of the ministry and enjoyed it. Please pray for the Lord to gain, train and equip many young people in Madagascar!

Week of May 29

Taking the Way of Enjoying Christ as the Tree of Life

"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, to him I will give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God." (Rev. 2:7)

"Blessed are those who wash their robes that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter by the gates into the city." (Rev. 22:14)

The tree of life typifies Christ who imparts life to man and who pleases and satisfies man. Eating the tree of life, that is, enjoying Christ as our life supply, should be the primary matter in the church life. (Life-study of Genesis, p. 141; Memorial Day Conference, key statement 1)

God's intention for man was to give Himself as the tree of life to man for man to enjoy. To see that God wants us to enjoy Him and that He does not want us to do anything for Him is to see that the Christian life is a matter of enjoyment…If our concept is changed so that we see these two points, it will be easy for us to live a life of enjoying God.

We should consider our former way of pursuit. We must have a drastic change of concept. We need to have a controlling vision. (The Vision of the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, pp. 51, 60)

Learning the Lessons of the Cross under God's Sovereignty

"Therefore we do not lose heart; but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day." (2 Cor. 4:16)

In the history of David, we need to see God's sovereignty and David's learning the lessons of the cross. Under God's sovereignty, David took the lessons of the cross, and eventually, he was not a loser but a gainer and a winner, not a sufferer but an enjoyer.

David's life signifies a life of brokenness. The breaking of the outer man is the breaking of our natural disposition, our self. The goal of the discipline of the Holy Spirit is for us to be a broken man. God puts us in a place of total inability and helplessness so that He can have the free way to work Himself with all His unsearchable riches into us. (CS 1 & 2 Samuel, msg. 6, I, B.10-11)

FTTA – High School Junior/Senior Day

This Saturday, June 4, high school juniors and seniors are invited to join the Full-time Training in Anaheim for a morning class, lunch, and tour of the training center. This time is a chance to experience and learn more about FTTA. Many of our young people may know someone who has been to the FTTA, and this is their opportunity to get a taste of what the FTTA is and ask any questions they may have.

May the Lord bless this visit and plant in each young person a desire to be trained for His purpose.

London Seminar

We continue to receive almost daily new requests for shepherding of seeking ones who have received a NT Recovery Version. The best way for this shepherding is by the saints according to the geography of both the seeking ones and the saints. We have our last afternoon seminar this Lord's Day, June 5 in five areas of London with the view of helping the saints in these areas to meet these contacts.

Please pray for these events which historically have helped the contacts who are reading the ministry to become more solid and to enter into the church life. Their being in the enjoyment of the Lord with the saints in the church life has great impact.

Germany

The 2022 Pfingstkonferenz (Pentecost Conference) will be held in person in Frankfurt this weekend, June 4 to 6. The general subject is from the Spring ITERO: "God's Economy in Faith."

Please pray for the Lord to release as many saints as possible, including some of our students and new ones, to attend this gathering. Pray that this time would be a rich feast and that the Lord would bless the release of the word and the fellowship and mingling among all the saints. Pray that the saints would set the time aside and pay the price to come together in the Lord's name, in spirit, and in oneness to participate in the Lord's move through the conference.

Bangladesh

Please pray for the propagation in Dhaka, the capital and largest city of Bangladesh, and the eighth or ninth largest city in the world with 8.9 million residents and over 21.7 million people in the greater metropolitan area. May the Lord open the door of the gospel through the saints' persistent door-knocking, contacting young people on campus, and establishing gospel home meetings with them.

Also pray for the Lord's testimony to be raised up in Cumilla, the second-largest city in eastern Bangladesh and one of the three oldest cities in the country. There is currently a full-time serving family there. In January, five saints visited Cumilla for four days of intensive propagation. May the energizing Triune God continue to move in this city and establish home meetings in open homes through the follow-up visits and shepherding care of the brothers and sisters.

Week of May 22

Praying and Putting the Flesh to Death to Cooperate with Christ

"Thus says Jehovah of hosts, I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they set themselves against them in the way as they came up out of Egypt." (1 Sam. 15:2)

"But they who are of Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and its lusts." (Gal. 5:24)

In typology, the Amalekites signify the flesh, the fallen man. The flesh denotes the totality of the fallen old man, our entire fallen being. In the entire universe God's unique enemy, in a practical sense, is not Satan but the flesh.

In the battle against Amalek, we need to cooperate with the Lord by praying and by putting the flesh to death. When we pray, we are one with the interceding Christ. When we put the flesh to death, we are one with the fighting Spirit. On the one hand, we must pray with Christ. On the other hand, we must slay the flesh by the fighting Spirit. Crucifying the old man was God's responsibility. Crucifying the flesh is our responsibility.

When Amalek is dealt with, the kingdom of God immediately comes in (Exo. 18:1-26). If we follow the Lord's word to utterly destroy the flesh and live and walk according to the spirit, we will have the kingship and will be in God's kingdom. Ethiopia

We are strongly praying and laboring for this ministry to spread all over Ethiopia so that the Lord may strengthen His move. Currently there are 8 churches in the country and over 50 localities where saints meet regularly. Twenty of these localities began to meet during the pandemic. This month, the Lord's Table is being established in two more major cities, Nekemte and Gimbi. We are also praying for the raising up of lampstands in Dembidolo and Burayu soon after that. Currently full-time serving brothers are laboring to strengthen the saints by staying with them for a month or two in these cities.
