Prayer & Announcements
Week of February 1, 2026
True Power and Impact
“And when both Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was constrained by the word, solemnly testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.” (Acts 18:5)
“But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.” (1 Cor. 6:17)
If we would have power and impact in our gospel preaching, we need to pray…[Many years ago,] instead of celebrating the Chinese new year, the saints in the church in Chefoo made preparations to preach the gospel to their relatives, neighbors, and friends. The last night of the year, which was a time of feasting according to Chinese custom, was for us a time of fasting and prayer. Then the next day, the first day of the year, we came together with our relatives, friends, and neighbors for the preaching of the gospel. That gospel preaching was carried on with much prayer. As I was preaching in the meeting hall, many saints were in different rooms praying until the message was over. The power we experienced in our gospel preaching came from such prayer…
[Our] power is not only through prayer but also in the Word. We do not preach any strange or peculiar things. On the contrary, our preaching is according to the word in the Bible. This word is the truth, and the truth is prevailing. There is power in every word of God…
As we seek to have power and impact in our gospel preaching, we should not follow any strange or peculiar way. Let us take the way of prayer, the way of the Word, and the way of the Spirit.
We believe that today the Lord is the processed Spirit who dwells in us and also upon us. It does not matter whether this Spirit is sensed by us. We believe that while we are serving Him and speaking for Him, especially as we are speaking Him forth, He is with us. We have the Lord’s presence within us as the anointing. Through prayer, the Word, and the Spirit, we can have true power and impact. (Life-study of Acts, 2nd ed., msg. 49, pp. 426-429)
LA College Students
This Friday evening, February 6, we will have a meeting for all college students in Los Angeles at UCLA. Please pray:
- For many to come and taste the sweet fellowship and blending across the different halls and campuses.
- For the students to sing with grace in their hearts to God.
- For the Lord to speak an anointed and practical word to everyone.
Pepperdine University
Pepperdine is a private Christian university in Malibu. A brother currently teaches two undergraduate courses there, and several students have existing connections to the churches in LA and Thousand Oaks. This Saturday, February 7, saints from Thousand Oaks will be distributing Bibles on the campus.
Please pray for many students to visit the BfA table to receive the Word and for many meaningful connections to be established.
International Chinese-speaking Blending Conference (ICSC)
The 2026 International Chinese-speaking Blending Conference will be held at the Ministry Conference Center in Anaheim from Friday evening, February 13 through Lord’s Day noon, February 15. The general subject will be “Noah, Daniel, and Job—Patterns of Living an Overcoming Life on the Line of Life to Fulfill the Economy of God.” For schedule and details, visit icsc2026.org.
Messages will be given in Chinese, but this feast is open to and intended for all the saints to participate in person at the MCC or online at lsmwebcast.com; no registration required. Translation into English, Korean, and Spanish will be provided via FM radio, ListenWIFI app, and Auracast-enabled headphones/receivers. Go to www.lsm.org/translation for more information about these options, including links to purchase recommended Auracast-enabled equipment.
Please pray for the Lord’s timely speaking and for Him to take more crucial steps in the advancement of His purpose during this gathering.
Switzerland
Lugano is the largest city in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland and is at the border with Italy. As the burden for Italy arose last year there was a feeling among the brothers in Switzerland and the co-workers in Europe to include this part of the country. In coordination with the saints in Milan there will be a three-day gospel trip to Lugano from February 5 to 7, followed by a blending meeting there with all the saints from Switzerland on February 8. About 40 saints have registered for this gospel time. Some saints from the Olympics-related gospel trip in Milan will join these four days in Lugano.
Please pray:
- For the Lord to establish the church in Lugano, a shining lampstand for His testimony and the preparation of the Bride.
- For the saints coming as sowers of the seed of life and workers to reap the harvest.
- For the good heart of people who will receive the Word and grow to bear much fruit.
- For God’s sovereign arrangement of the environment and a peaceful situation to advance His move in the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland.
- For the coordination and fellowship among all the participating saints, that they would be in one accord and fully supplied with prayer, the Word, and the Spirit.
Italy – Gospel Trips
The current cycle, which will be the final TR trip before the Olympic Games begin, is taking place January 30 to February 9 in Milan. Teams of FTTA trainees are currently visiting Italy and other countries in Europe.
Please pray that the Lord would operate through all the tracts and literature distributed during the past week to turn the hearts of many local Italians. May the Lord continue to prepare the hearts of many seeking people to receive Christ in His word and be added to the Lord’s testimony in Europe.
Saints in LA may give through the Church in Los Angeles designated for “Italy Olympics.”
