Praying to Cooperate with God for His Plan

“These all continued steadfastly with one accord in prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.” (Acts 1:14)

“Again, truly I say to you that if two of you are in harmony on earth concerning any matter for which they ask, it will be done for them from My Father who is in the heavens.” (Matt. 18:19)

Before the Lord’s death, the disciples had no interest in prayer for spiritual things (Luke 22:40, 45-46). Rather, they contended among themselves as to which was considered to be greater (Luke 22:24). But now, after the Lord’s resurrection and ascension, their spiritual condition radically changed. They did not contend among themselves, but were burdened to pray perseveringly with one accord, even before the day of Pentecost, when they would receive the outpoured Spirit of power economically (Acts 2)... We are told in 1:14 that the disciples, together with the women, Mary, and the Lord’s brothers, persevered with one accord in prayer. The Greek words rendered “with one accord” may also be translated “with one mind.”

God wanted to pour out His Spirit for the carrying out of His New Testament economy, and He had promised to do this. Yet He needed His chosen people to pray for it. As God in heaven, He needs men on earth to cooperate with Him for the carrying out of His plan. The one hundred twenty disciples praying for ten days met this need of God… It was a great matter for the one hundred and twenty to pray in one accord for ten days. They were able to pray in one accord for such a long time because they had Christ within them as their life and person. (Life-study of Acts, 2nd ed., msg. 5, pp. 37-39)

A New Spiritual Year Before God

At the turning of this calendar year, let us seek the Lord’s shining, open ourselves to Him, and cooperate with the searching, judging, enlightening, and infusing of the seven eyes so that God can gain each of us in an unprecedented way for His move and His purpose.

May we all experience a new spiritual year before God by spending time personally to meet God so that under His shining we will have a clearance of everything past and receive fresh grace, fresh enlightenment, fresh power and fresh promises from God.

2026 Winter YP Blending Conference

This weekend, January 10 to 11, there will be a young people’s blending conference in Anaheim. The subject is “Nuggets and Gems to Strengthen Our Life of Pursuing Christ.” From across all the halls in Los Angeles, 35 YP are registered to attend.

This year, cellphone lockers will be made available to store phones until the end of each day. In addition, there will also be the opportunity to blend with a group of young people from the churches in Northern California who will also be attending.

Please pray:

• That our YP would be fully released to attend both sessions of the conference, and each would personally receive a fresh speaking from the Lord to be strengthened in their pursuing Christ this year.
• For the conference atmosphere to be sanctified, uplifted, and free of the enemy’s distractions.
• That the Lord would gain the blending and building He desires among all the young people.

GTCA

Pray for the Lord’s move this year in the newly designated target cities of Lafayette, Indiana, Charleston, South Carolina, and Pensacola, Florida, particularly for the strengthening of the church in Lafayette, the re-establishment of the Lord’s testimony in Charleston, and the raising up of a new local church in Pensacola.

Pray that the Lord will send the right ones to migrate to each of these cities, and pray that all the saints will rise up to participate in what the Lord is doing in these cities, by praying, giving, or going.

France – Lille

On the weekend of January 24 to 25, a new lampstand will be raised up in Lille, France. Hallelujah! This will be the third new local church raised up in France since the gospel trips related to the Paris Olympics in 2024. How we praise and worship the Lord for His doing: “Unless Jehovah builds the house, those who build it labor in vain” (Psa. 127:1a). We sense that this step is not merely local but is for the Lord’s testimony in Europe and for His recovery on the earth.

Lille is located in the northern part of France near the border with Belgium. Its greater metropolitan area has over 1.5 million inhabitants, the fourth-most populated in France after Paris, Lyon, and Marseille. With a student population of over 110,000 students within its metropolitan area, Lille is one of the major French student cities.

Please pray:

• For a clear and strong beginning for the church in Lille.
• For the consecration of the saints who will be standing in Lille, that Christ may be all and in all.
• For the blending with visiting saints, that Lille would not stand alone, but in fellowship with all the churches.

Italy – Gospel Trips

The current round of Torch Relay gospel trips are taking place from January 2 to 12 in Turin and Bologna. May Satan be put to shame to the uttermost, and the Lord raise up many lampstands in Italy! Please pray for the Lord to prepare the hearts of many seeking people to receive Christ in His word and be added to the Lord’s testimony in Italy and other parts of Europe.

Saints in LA may give through the Church in Los Angeles designated for “Italy Olympics.”

Mexico – College Training

From January 7 to 11, more than 130 college students from around Mexico will gather outside the city of Monterey for a five-day college training. The topic of the training will be “The Humanity of Jesus.” A local brother from Los Angeles will be participating in this training. Please pray:

• For the blending and fellowship among the students and serving ones from all over Mexico.
• For the students to see the need for a proper humanity and to see how they can eat the humanity of Jesus to be one who can fulfill God’s purpose.
