Resting, Feasting, Purging to be a New Lump
“Purge out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, even as you are unleavened; for our Passover, Christ, also has been sacrificed. So then let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.” (1 Cor. 5:7-8)
The principle of the Sabbath is that we should cease our work because God has done everything for us and has become everything for our enjoyment. The Feast of the Passover is a sign of God’s full redemption, and this full redemption is the bringing of God’s chosen people into the full enjoyment of Himself. The entire Christian life should be such a feast. Keeping the Feast of Unleavened Bread typifies the purging away of all sinful things through the enjoyment of Christ as the sinless life supply, to be a new lump—the church, composed of believers in their new nature. (Crystallization-Study of Leviticus, msg. 20, II.A, IV.D, II.A.2, V.B, V.B.3.b)
More Winter Training Registrations
To be trained is to have the rich supply of Christ ministered to us that we may grow, and it is to be equipped that we may be skillful in speaking, in contacting new ones, and in shepherding and in preaching and teaching. (Life-Study of Ephesians, ch. 41)
In Los Angeles, we will hold simulcasts December 24 to 29; and a delayed video in Spanish. Registration is due December 2, including payment of $105. Saints from LA should register at http://tinyurl.com/wintertrainingla and submit payment either online or to their district’s registration coordinator.
Ask the Lord to release more saints from the affairs of human life and to save us out of any routine church life to have Christ richly ministered to us. Ask the Lord to stir our hearts to pursue Him actively: “For it is God who operates in you both the willing and the working for His good pleasure” (Phil. 2:13).
College Conference C
Last weekend was truly blessed with the Lord’s presence and His rich speaking! Though we were short of serving ones, the Lord supplied to meet the need and shepherd each of the students.
We received an uplifted view of what it means to have the Lord’s speaking and how we can have it all the time. His speaking shouldn’t be rare. God’s speaking has been consolidated in the Word.
During cabin time, we made a resolution to read the Scriptures daily in a consistent way. Please pray for all the students to be reminded to read at their set time and develop a long-lasting habit so that they all grow and develop their spiritual vocabulary to fellowship with the Lord. The conference concluded with five baptisms.
For conference C, the coming weekend, please pray that:
- Everyone that signed up will be released to the conference with no cancelations.
-
The Lord would sanctify everyone with His word and prepare us more to be His Bride.
-
Everyone going would have a fresh touch with the Lord and experience Christ in a fresh way.
Thousand Oaks
The Lord is shaking the Ventura County residents out of peaceful suburban living. Even many of us are seeking a comfortable, good family life. God’s economy has became a secondary thing.
The series of tragedies should be a wake-up call to us that “we should not regard the things which are seen but the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Cor. 4:18). God should also use these tragedies to soften people’s heart to receive His gospel.
Though outward circumstances are negative, God wants to move on in the church in Thousand Oaks and all of Ventura County. Please pray for us:
- The saints will be emptied and allow the Lord to take over their life by thorough consecration.
-
We will be strengthened to spread His testimony throughout Ventura County.
-
The students on college campuses will be open to the Bible and the serving saints.
-
The saints will all become vital groups of 2s and 3s to pray, read the Word, and preach the gospel.
This window of opportunity will not last long. May the churches stand as one to cooperate with our energizing God to move on and gain people now!
As of Lord’s Day morning, all TO saints and their homes were in good condition.
Brexit
“I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men; On behalf of kings and all who are in high position, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all godliness and gravity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of our Savior God.” (1 Tim. 2:1-3)
Please pray for the Lord’s will to be done in the ongoing negotiations. May the church-life in the UK, and the ability of European saints to go there for trainings and conferences, be unaffected.
Kraków, Poland
During the International Book Fair in Kraków in late October, we sold 10 ministry books and gave out 691 Polish NT Recovery Versions, plus several English and Russian versions. The number of Bibles distributed per hour was fewer than when we distribute on the street; however, we received significantly more email subscriptions. Those who subscribed will receive 5 emails from Bibles for Europe to help them read and appreciate the Bible. They may also request a local Bible study.
Please continue to pray for literature recipients, especially those who subscribed to the emails, that they will be encouraged to read the Bible and be open and ask for further contact, and that eventually they will have a way into the church life.
