Growing Up into Christ and Learning Christ for the Corporate Living of the One New Man

“Holding to truth in love, we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head, Christ.” (Eph. 4:15)

To be no longer little children (v. 14), we need to grow up into Christ. This is to have Christ increase in us in all things until we attain to a full-grown man. We grow by caring only for Christ and the church, that is, by handling truth in love. We do not grow by some kind of ethical behavior. (The Goal of the Lord’s Recovery—To Bring Forth the One New Man, week 3, day 1)

“But you did not so learn Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him as the reality is in Jesus.” (Eph. 4:20-21)

The new man “was created according to God in righteousness and holiness of the reality.” This is the very reality in Jesus. Our standard of living should not be according to the law or according to the standards of society; it must be according to the truth in Jesus, the reality lived out by Jesus when He was on earth. Hence, the life of Jesus should be our life today in the church. (The Goal of the Lord’s Recovery—To Bring Forth the One New Man, week 3, day 6)

Los Angeles Campuses

Thank you saints for your prayers for the Lord’s move on the campuses in LA! We have seen unprecedented blessing from the Lord upon us through taking this way of blending in the labor on our 3 major campuses: CSUN, USC, and UCLA.

At USC one of our students’ friends, who has a Muslim background, got saved! We also had a very anointed college meeting with 7 brand new ones who were genuinely hungry for the word and fellowship, which is very good for us.

At CSUN, we had 12 new ones at our Wednesday Bible study. This week we will have multiple club fairs and opportunities to contact more students.

At UCLA, we are continuing to reach out to the 20+ new contacts from the summer, mostly freshmen, with whom we are in somewhat regular contact.

Please pray for the prayer, diligent follow up, and shepherding with the new contacts, especially the freshmen, on each of the 3 campuses this week.

Middle-Age FTTA

The fall term of middle-age training begins this week. Please pray for a bountiful supply of life and light to each trainee.

Both the middle-age training and FTTA have fewer trainees than in recent past years. Beseech the Lord to inspire many in the fall months to give themselves and to prepare themselves for the spring term.

Pakistan and Turkey

There are four local churches in Pakistan with a total Lord’s Day attendance of 150. In recent months they have emphasized visiting gospel contacts and dormant saints as well as perfecting everyone by a variety of short trainings. Their report with photos plus a shorter report from Turkey (total 2 pages):
