L.A. Joint Meeting

Lord’s Day, October 19 the whole church in Los Angeles will gather at L.A. Trade Tech College at 10 a.m. (same location as in April). May the Lord really use this time to blend all of us together for the sake of the impact of His testimony in Los Angeles.

ITERO

The International Training for Elders and Responsible Ones will be October 9 to 11 in Toronto. Lord’s Day, October 12, the trainees are invited to a blending meeting with the churches in Canada.

The burden of this training is that the Lord will make us all able ministers of the New Testament, effective building material for the universal building up of the Body of Christ, and good stewards and serving ones in our respective local churches.

UCLA

UCLA classes will begin Thursday, October 2. As the new school year begins, please join us to pray that the Lord would gain material for His building from this campus. We have been touching the Lord’s heart for people, and are burdened to emphasize going to meet students rather than simply inviting them to events. The Wednesday before school starts, we will visit students we’ve contacted both over the summer and at the club fair on Tuesday. Around 80 of the summer contacts have indicated that they would like to be visited, and more have been visited in the last few days. Please pray that in these visits we would be one with the visiting God for the accomplishment of His purpose.

Bibles for America

From September 12 to 17, BfA staff members joined local saints to distribute free Bibles and ministry books at an assortment of venues and college campuses in San Luis Obispo, Santa Rosa, Berkeley, Sacramento, Merced, and Visalia. On the last day, at Visalia’s College of the Sequoias, the saints set up a table and gave away their last 40 Bibles; based on the openness of students, they could have given away many more.

The saints were well-received at every venue. People approached with questions like, “What does it mean that we will perish?” and comments like, “I read the first page of The Normal Christian Life, and I want more!” A total of 240 Bibles and 360 ministry books, as well as hundreds of brochures and gospel tracts, were distributed during the tour.

Please pray that the word will continue to run in Central and Northern California, and that the many seeds that were sown during the tour will take root and bear fruit. Pray also that the local saints will be strengthened into the inner man as they follow up with recipients who requested further contact.

Bulgaria

There will be a conference in Sofia, Bulgaria October 3 to 5. Many new people are expected. Pray for the furtherance of the Lord’s move here.

Düsseldorf, Germany

The full amount for the purchase of the meeting hall in Düsseldorf has now been received through the gifts of the saints. We thank the Lord for this! The prayer of the saints for this matter has therefore been answered. Praise Him!
