Maintaining the Ground of Oneness in Spirit

"But to the place which Jehovah your God will choose out of all your tribes to put His name, to His habitation, shall you seek, and there shall you go." (Deut. 12:5)

"For also in one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body… and were all given to drink one Spirit." (1 Cor. 12:13)

"In whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in spirit." (Eph. 2:22)

The fulfillment of the type in Deuteronomy 12 is not a matter of a geographical place but a matter of our spirit. In the New Testament God's habitation, His dwelling place, is particularly located in our mingled spirit, our human spirit regenerated and indwelt by the divine Spirit. In our meeting for the worship of God, we must exercise our spirit and do everything in our spirit.

Wherever we may be, we should be gathered into the Lord's name, in our spirit, and with the cross. If we all do this, we all will meet in the same place, although we meet in different localities; this one place is the ground of the unique oneness.

In order to be today's overcomers, we must maintain the ground of oneness, God's unique choice, without elevating anything other than Christ. In the Lord's recovery we elevate Christ and Christ alone. The way to be restored from desolation is to exalt Christ; the enjoyment of Christ with God on the ground of oneness can be maintained and preserved only when Christ is properly appreciated and exalted by God's people. (Crystallization-Study of Deuteronomy, msg. 9, I.D.2.b, I.C.3, I.D, V, C)

Unceasingly Pray Extended: 30 Days of Global Prayer

"Rejoice in hope; endure in tribulation; persevere in prayer." (Rom. 12:12)

"Persevere in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving." (Col. 4:2)

"Always rejoice, unceasingly pray, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (1 Thes. 5:16-18)

We worship the Lord that He has stirred up so many of you to participate in the present burden for prayer. Never before have so many across the entire globe joined together in one accord to pray as one man in such a sustained way.

Our hope is that this month of prayer will not simply be a passing event but will greatly strengthen our personal prayer life and the corporate prayer ministry of the church. Prayer is our greatest work before God, and it is also the greatest threat to God's enemy…. Consistency and persistence in the face of obstacles are crucial to building up a prayer life and prayer ministry.

Today the Lord is seeking prayers of dispensational value, prayers that match God's heart; prayers for the advancement of God's move, the preparation of the bride, the producing of the overcomers, the defeat of God's enemy; prayers that change the age. The prayers of the saints and of the church are a significant factor in effecting the dispensational change from the present age to the kingdom age (Luke 18:1-8; Rev. 6:9-10; 8:3-5). (Excerpted from the April 16 co-workers' letter)

Brothers and sisters, there is still time to participate! The original 21 Days of Prayer has been extended through April 30. Sign-up and prayer burdens are at http://unceasinglypray.org.

Having a Heart for the Salvation of Sinners

"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men…. our Savior God desires all men to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth." (1 Tim. 2:1, 3b-4)

We need to pray to have a real burden for the sinners' salvation. In 1 Timothy 2 Paul exhorts us to pray on behalf of all men because our Savior God desires all men to be saved. God's desire requires our prayer for it to be carried out. In Romans 10:1 Paul says concerning the Jews, "The good pleasure of my heart and my petition to God for them is for their salvation." Like Paul, the delight of our heart needs to be the salvation of men because this is the delight of God's heart (Luke 15:6-7, 9-10, 23-24). We need to pray to the Lord that His concern for sinners' salvation would be dispensed into us to become our burden. (WL, The Scriptural Way to Meet and to Serve for the Building Up of the Body of Christ, ch. 23)

Prayer, Week of April 12

[View as PDF]

Praying for God's Will to Be Done on Earth

"That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit into the inner man." (Eph. 3:16)

"Moreover, in like manner the Spirit also joins in to help us in our weakness, for we do not know for what we should pray as is fitting, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." (Rom. 8:26)

"If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you." (John 15:7)

God's intention is to accomplish His will through the believers' prayer in union with Him. God needs us to exercise our spirit with our resurrected will to pray according to His divine will for Christ to be manifested and enjoyed by us, for the Body life to be practiced by us, and for the Body of Christ to be built up through us.

A genuine man of prayer is one whose desires are fully blended into God's desires and whose thoughts are fully one with God's thoughts. He is a man in whom God's desires are imprinted, a man of revelation whose heart is a duplication of God's heart.

When we come to the Lord in prayer, we need to allow the Spirit to mingle our desires with His desires, lead our thoughts into His thoughts, and imprint His desires and thoughts into us. Then the prayers that we utter to God with His inward desires will be precious, weighty, and valuable to Him and will cause Satan to suffer loss. (ITERO, The Will of God, msg. 3, II, E, E.1-2)

Unceasingly Pray: 21 Days of Global Prayer

The highest and deepest prayers in the NT are for God's work in the saints and for His move on the earth (Phil. 1:9-11; Eph. 1:15-23; 3:14-21; Acts 4:24-31; Eph. 6:18-20; Col. 4:2-4). Intercessory prayer is a matter of co-laboring with Christ in His heavenly ministry.

Brothers Minoru Chen and Ron Kangas have recorded words of encouragement regarding the importance of prayer during these days. To watch the videos, visit http://unceasinglypray.org/updates.

Many matters require the church's prayer. Here are some items mentioned this past week:

  1. The dormant believers to be enlivened, the wayward Christians to be recovered, and the backslidden saints to be restored to the Lord and to the fellowship of the church.
  2. The scattered believers to see God's eternal purpose, to be stirred in their spirits to seek the deeper things of Christ, and to take the way of God's NT economy.
  3. All the churches to be in a prevailing one accord, glorifying our God and His Christ with one mouth to bring forth the reality of the one new man.
  4. The Lord to strengthen, uphold, and prosper the churches in every country in His recovery as the testimony of Jesus.
  5. The Lord to supply the co-workers and leading brothers and grant them wisdom to lead and shepherd His people onward.
  6. The saints to be preserved and sanctified, to be separated unto God from common and sinful things, and to not be conformed to this age but to be transformed that they may prove the will of God.

Let us pray that the prayers of the saints in all the churches will be anointed by the Lord and pave the way for Him to carry out His economy in the midst of the current situation. May these 21 days of prayer become a base for many saints to build up the habit of praying in twos and threes.

The Advancement of the Gospel

"Now I want you to know, brothers, that the things concerning me have turned out rather to the advancement of the gospel... and most of the brothers, being confident in the Lord because of my bonds, are more exceedingly bold to speak the word of God without fear." (Phil. 1:12, 14)

Let us petition the Lord that the outward things concerning us—in LA and around the earth—will turn to the advancement of the gospel and that we would be bold to speak the word of God without fear.

Los Angeles Young People

The SCYP Spring Pursuit will conclude this Saturday, April 18, but the Monday and Wednesday online meetings in LA will continue indefinitely. Please pray for all our YP in LA to be encouraged, supplied, and helped practically by these gatherings.

Pray strongly that the Lord would release as many as possible to sign up in the midst of this unprecedented time.

  • the blending and the release and digestion of the ministry to continue strongly;
  • all the saints to learn to use the telephone and internet for visiting and blending both near and far;
  • the saints serving at LSM in their planning for the Memorial Day online conference.

Bibles for America

May the Lord operate during this difficult time to cause many hearts to turn to Him.

Please pray for the mass mailing of a new gospel tract to the households in every postal code in Berlin. Pray that the Lord will use this tract to give all the people in Berlin an opportunity to hear the gospel, to save many people in Berlin, and to gain some for the organic building up of the church.

Prayer, Week of April 5

Praying for God's Will to Be Done on Earth

"Therefore we...do not cease praying and asking on your behalf that you may be filled with the full knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding." (Col. 1:9)

"Thus says Jehovah,…concerning the work of My hands, command Me." (Isa. 45:11)

"Your kingdom come; Your will be done, as in heaven, so also on earth." (Matt. 6:10)

After we know God's will, we can say to Him, "God, we want You to do this. We are determined that You should do this. God, You must do this." We can utter such strong and powerful prayers before God. We have to ask God to open our eyes to see the kind of work He is doing in this age. In this age all His work is based on this position. Heaven may want to accomplish something, but heaven will not do it alone; heaven waits for the earth to do it first, and then heaven does it.…The earth must move before heaven will move. God wants the earth to move heaven. (WN, The Prayer Ministry of the Church, ch. 1)

Unceasingly Pray: 21 Days of Global Prayer

In light of the current global pandemic, the co-workers in the Lord's recovery feel that now is the time to call on the saints in every place to pray in one accord as the one new man for the Lord's interests on the earth. (21 Days of Prayer, Letter of Introduction, https://churchinlosangeles.org/prayer)

Too often we think of prayer as something we do only when we are aware of a particular spiritual or practical need or when we want to accomplish something for the Lord in a way of service, whether personally, with others, or as the church. Prayer for these things is legitimate and even necessary, but the highest and deepest prayers in the New Testament are, first and foremost, for God's work in the saints and for His move on the earth (Phil. 1:9-11; Eph. 1:15-23; 3:14-21; Acts 4:24-31; Eph. 6:18-20; Col. 4:2-4). Intercessory prayer is a matter of co-laboring with Christ in His heavenly ministry. Such prayer is the pinnacle of the church's service to Christ. He as the heavenly Intercessor needs His people on the earth to echo His desire. ("A Call for Global Prayer," http://unceasinglypray.org/letter)

Many matters require the church's prayer. Here is a summary of items mentioned this past week:

  1. For the Father's name to be sanctified, His kingdom to come; and His will to be done on the earth (Matt. 6:9-10).
  2. For God's good pleasure to be fulfilled, His purpose to be accomplished, and His economy to be carried out (Eph. 1:9-10).
  3. For God in Christ to rule over all world affairs (Dan. 4:17; Rev. 1:5), to turn the hearts of kings to do His will (Prov. 21:1), and to raise up and put down leaders as He sees fit (Dan. 2:21).
  4. For those in authority to have the wisdom to discharge their responsibilities and govern righteously according to God so that the church may go on in peace (1 Tim. 2:2).
  5. For the pandemic to be stopped, the Lord to guide all those working toward that end, and for Him to uphold all those who are rendering aid to the afflicted (Num. 16:46-48; 2 Sam. 24:25).
  6. For the white horse of the gospel to run and for God to lead men to repent and believe the gospel according to His desire that all men be saved (Rev. 6:1-2; 1 Tim. 2:4a).

Don't wait; don't moan about missing the first days. Have a new beginning with the Lord! Sign up at http://unceasinglypray.org, which suggests verses and prayer burdens for each day of April 1 to 21. English, Chinese, Korean, and Spanish are available on this site. Join more than 13,500 individuals and small groups in every inhabited time zone around the world in intercessory prayer.

Let us pray that the prayers of the saints in all the churches will be anointed by the Lord and pave the way for Him to carry out His economy in the midst of the current situation.

Prayer for Healthcare Professionals

We remind all the saints to pray for the healthcare professionals in our country, and for the more than 35 in the church in LA, some of whom are working close to very sick people, especially during these peak weeks of the COVID-19 outbreak. Pray for the Lord to uphold and protect all those who are rendering aid to the afflicted (Num. 16:46-48; 2 Sam. 24:25) and to protect their families as they return home from work each day.

The Will of God to Head Up All Things in Christ

The Spring ITERO this past weekend had eight video messages and two small group study times. The general subject was The Will of God.

"He caused [His grace] to abound to us in all wisdom and prudence, making known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Himself, unto the economy of the fullness of the times, to head up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in Him." (Eph. 1:8-10)

We need to understand what the will of the Lord is (Col. 1:9). God's will is what He wants and what He intends to accomplish. Ultimately, God's will in the universe is to head up all things in Christ through the church as the Body of Christ.

The first step in the heading up of all things in Christ is for God to bring His chosen ones, His sons, out of the universal collapse and to place them under the headship of Christ. When the church takes the lead to be headed up in Christ, God has a way to head up all other things.

"Holding to truth in love, we may grow up into Him in all things, who is the Head, Christ." (Eph. 4:15)

In order to be delivered from the heap of collapse in a practical way, we need to grow in life; the more we grow in life, the more we will be headed up and the more we will be rescued from the universal collapse. (ITERO msg. 1, I., II., VI., VI.D.1.c, D.2, E.4)

The One New Man Praying with One Accord

In light of the current world situation, the co-workers in the Lord's recovery feel that now is the time to call on the saints in every place to pray in one accord as the one new man for the Lord's interests on the earth. To facilitate this burden, we have set up a new website, http://unceasinglypray.org. Please go to this site to join this prayer labor. (The co-workers' complete letter is at the end of this prayer email and posted at https://churchinlosangeles.org/prayer)

This is a time for saints from every continent, nation, and locality to pray with watchfulness and perseverance so that the Lord will have a way to advance the divine history within human history unto His return. Let us beseech the Lord that all in Los Angeles will participate in this unique opportunity!

Seizing the Opportunity to Do What Is Good

"So then, as we have the opportunity, let us do what is good [mainly ministering material things to the needy] toward all, but especially toward those of the household of the faith." (Gal. 6:10 and note)

Let us redeem our time by seizing the current unique opportunity to do good in the Lord—helping those isolated at home and giving monetary gifts for the needy. More at https://churchinlosangeles.org/members/offerings

A Letter from the Co-workers Concerning 21 Days of Prayer

View this letter as a PDF in: [Español] [한국어] [中文]

Dear saints,

In light of the current world situation, the co-workers in the Lord's recovery feel that now is the time to call on the saints in every place to pray in one accord as the one new man for the Lord's interests on the earth. To facilitate this burden, we have set up a new website, http://unceasinglypray.org

This site is intended to foster round-the-clock, global prayer for 21 days, from April 1 to April 21, 2020. Visit http://unceasinglypray.org to:

Sign up to receive prayer burdens and reminders via email

  • Read an introductory letter from the co-workers
  • Select 15-minute daily time slots to pray
  • Pray over 21 suggested points for the saints' intercession
  • Confirm participation in this prayer ministry

If we avail ourselves of this opportunity, even while we are under restriction outwardly we will increase our spiritual capacity to carry out the most important service of the church, which is prayer. We believe that because of the strong one accord and rich blending among the co-workers and the churches, we, as the Lord's Body, are more able than ever before to put on the whole armor of God to stand for the Lord's interests against all the spiritual forces of evil.

To meet the need at this crucial juncture, we call on all the saints from every continent, nation, and locality in the Lord's recovery to pray with watchfulness and perseverance so that the Lord will have a way to advance the divine history within human history for the fulfillment of His purpose at the end of this age. Please spread the word so that as many saints as possible can join in this global prayer of the one new man.

Becoming Qualified to Inherit the Promised Land

"See, Jehovah your God has set the land before you; go up, possess it, as Jehovah the God of your fathers has spoken to you. Do not fear, neither be dismayed." (Deut. 1:21)

Those who are qualified to inherit the good land know God's heart and God's government, love God, trust in God, fear God, subject themselves to God's ruling, mind the tender feelings of God, and live in the presence of God. (Crystallization-Study of Deuteronomy, week 5, I.B.)

As the word, Christ is the One who sustains us and makes us those who love God, fear God, subject ourselves to God's ruling, mind the tender feelings of God, and live in God's presence. As long as we have a morning revival through the holy Word and have daily victory also through the Word, we will become those who are qualified to inherit the good land. (WL, Life-Study of Deuteronomy, pp. 16-17)

Prayer for the Current Situation

"The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof." (1 Cor. 10:26)

"Be humbled under the mighty hand of God…casting all your anxiety on Him because it matters to Him concerning you. Be sober; watch." (1 Peter 5:6-8a)

"Let us not lose heart in doing what is good….So then, as we have the opportunity, let us do what is good toward all, but especially toward those of the household of the faith." (Gal. 6:9-10)

As God's people, let us pray for the advance of the divine history within the current human history. We need to be sober-minded and vigilant, but without anxiety or panic. We believe "the heavens do rule" (Dan. 4:26) so that the environment might be fit for God's chosen people to receive His salvation. In these days of local and global uncertainty, let us pray for:

  • the Lord's protection of His people globally in their health, economics, and other ways;
  • every believer to experience the peace of God guarding their hearts and thoughts (Phil. 4:7);
  • the Lord's wisdom to leading brothers and co-workers everywhere in guiding the church life;
  • the Lord's ruling as King of kings (Rev. 19:6) over all the governments and their decisions;
  • an increase in mutual contact and mutual care among both active and dormant saints;
  • all the saints to freshly and joyfully pursue the Lord in our new meeting environment;
  • the speaking of the ministry to continue and to reach every part of the earth;
  • the gospel to go out from us to many people who are open due to the current situation.

Stay informed about the church's meetings and fellowship at https://churchinlosangeles.org/covid19.

"Then He said to His disciples, The harvest is great, but the workers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest that He would thrust out workers into His harvest." (Matt. 9:37-38)

The basis for the Lord to accomplish His present move in this country is the persevering prayers in one accord (Acts 1:14). Let us beseech the Lord to thrust out laborers into the ripened harvest of middle America. Specifically, we need to pray that at least 300 saints (including 30 full-timers) will migrate to the 10 target cities in the United States. For reports and information, please visit http://GTCA.us.

BfA – Visalia, CA

In February, BfA went on a distribution trip to Visalia. We had a sweet time blending with local saints. They joined in passing out NTs, Basic Elements, and tracts at a junior college. Many young people opened up about their desire to read the Bible more; six left contact information. A staff member, who regularly gives Bibles to students, took a NT and15 BfA offer cards. Pray for the follow-up with the six new contacts, and for the saints to be encouraged by bearing remaining fruit from this campus.

European University Conference

The Spring European University Conference has been changed to an online gathering with spoken messages, live question and answer times, overflow, and special fellowship sessions. Dates are March 27 to 29. The subject is "The Christian Life in Philippians."

India

Please pray for the on-going Recovery Version Translation Project into 6 local Indian languages, that all the translators can be strengthened in their spirit, soul, and body. Also pray for the preparation of Hindi translators for the Recovery Version translation as the 7th Indian language.

Prayer, Week of March 15

[View as PDF]

All prayer meetings this week in Los Angeles will be by internet or telephone. Each district will announce their plan.

The Building and the Battle

"Those who built the wall and those who carried burdens took the loads with one hand doing the work and with the other holding a weapon." (Neh. 4:17)

Whenever we enjoy Christ to a certain extent, there is always an issue—the building and the battle. These two always go together. If you would have the building of God, you must prepare to fight. For the building of God we need the materials, and for the fighting of the battle we need the weapons. All of these depend on the stones, the mountains, the iron, and the copper.

These minerals signify that there is something in the life of Christ as materials for the building of God and as weapons for the fighting of the battle. (WL, The All-inclusive Christ, chap. 7, sec. 2)

For the building and the battle, may we progress in our experience of this Christ as "a land whose stones are iron and from whose mountains [we] can mine copper!" (Deut. 8:9).

Prayer for the Current Situation

"The earth is Jehovah's, and its fullness, the habitable land and those who dwell in it." (Psa. 24:1)

"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses every man's understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:6-7)

* "Let us consider one another so as to incite one another to love and good works, not abandoning our own assembling together." (Heb. 10:24-25a)

As God's people, let us pray for the advance of the divine history within the current human history. We need to be sober-minded and vigilant, but we do not need to panic. We believe "the heavens do rule" (Dan. 4:26) so that the environment might be fit for God's chosen people to receive His salvation. In these days of local and global uncertainty, let us pray for:

  • the Lord's protection of all His people in their health, economics, and other ways;
  • the Lord to be wisdom to leading brothers and co-workers everywhere in guiding the church life;
  • the Lord's ruling as King of kings over all the governments and their current decisions;
  • an increase in mutual contact and mutual care among the saints;
  • all the saints to freshly and joyfully pursue the Lord in our new meeting environment;
  • *the speaking of the ministry to continue and to reach everyone;
  • the gospel to reach many people who are open due to the current situation.

Los Angeles Young People

All the upcoming young people's conferences at Oak Glen have been cancelled for the safety of the young people, serving ones, Oak Glen staff, and ultimately all the saints in the churches in Southern California. The coordinating saints are looking to the Lord to provide an alternate arrangement to convey the word and the burden to the young people. We pray that this provision can be as impactful upon them as it would have been at Oak Glen. Further details will be sent in the coming days.

* In LA, we began an online YP meeting Monday and Wednesday each week to check in with our JH and HS students, as well as to share helpful and encouraging topics. More than 30 YP joined the first meeting with positive responses. Please pray for increased care and contact with our YP during the coming weeks. Pray that the hearts of our dear young people would be comforted and encouraged in these days.

FTTA

In light of the rapidly developing situation and in consultation with the medical personnel, the senior co-workers, and the brothers overseeing LSM, we felt it was necessary to continue the FTTA remotely, beginning Monday, March 23, and to ask all the trainees to return to their homes as soon as possible. There is a growing sense of priority, not panic, that we cannot disregard our civic responsibility to society to take measures, though drastic as they may seem, to limit the spread of the coronavirus. It is most definitely wiser to err on the side of caution for the protection of our trainees and the recovery's name.

* FTT Middle-age

We had fellowship with some senior co-workers regarding what we should do. After much fellowship and deliberation, we decided to suspend this term of the FTT-MA and ask all the trainees to return home this week. All the training classes are therefore cancelled for this term until further notice.

GTCA—Gospelize, Truthize, Churchize America

"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men; on behalf of kings and all who are in high position, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all godliness and gravity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of our Savior God, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth." (1 Tim. 2:1-4)

In order for the Lord's prevailing move in this country to be realized, we need to pray intercessory prayers for all men, and especially for the leaders of this country. Our prayers are not political in nature; rather, we pray for the Lord's will in these verses to be fulfilled so that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in godliness and gravity. Such prayer is with a view to preserving a proper environment that is suitable for "all men to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth."

New GTCA Website

The website http://GTCA.us has been refreshed. At this site we can subscribe to receive ongoing burdens and news. The site also has information about the ten target cities for migration this year, including a conference and city tour in each city in May. We hope this new site will help facilitate the saints' participation in GTCA, whether by praying, giving, or migrating. May the Lord use this new site to further His move in North America!

Enjoying Christ as Our Allotted Portion

"Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you for a share of the allotted portion of the saints in the light." (Col. 1:12)

"It is a land which Jehovah your God cares for; always the eyes of Jehovah your God are upon it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year." (Deut. 11:12)

The New Testament believers' inheritance, their allotted portion, is not a physical land; it is the all-inclusive Christ. He is the allotted portion of the saints as their divine inheritance for their enjoyment. Because we are practically joined to Christ as the reality of the good land and are enjoying His riches, God's eyes are upon us continually, causing us to enjoy God's presence and making us the object of His care. (Col. 1:12, footnote 2; Deut. 11:12, footnote 1)

Christ is so good. Christ is so sweet. How rich Christ is to us! We must have such an adequate and full experience of Him...as so many kinds of food. We must enjoy Christ to such an extent that the life within us may be matured. Then there will be a building for the Lord and the warfare with the enemy. (CWWL, 1961-1962, vol. 4, "The All-inclusive Christ," pp. 247-248)

GTCA—Gospelize, Truthize, Churchize America

"Upon your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen; all day and all night they will never keep silent. You who remind Jehovah, do not be dumb; and do not give Him quiet until He establishes and until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth." (Isa. 62:6-7)

Persevering prayer in the church prayer meetings, sisters' prayer times, and vital groups should be the base for all the labor in His present move. May we receive the spirit of Isaiah 62 to "never keep silent." Let us take our stand as the Lord's "watchmen" who day and night do not keep silent but remind Him concerning His will to establish His testimony on the earth. In particular, may we remind Him of His desire to spread His recovery throughout middle America and the Bible Belt region.

SoCal High School Sisters Conference

From March 13 to 15, sisters from across Southern California with gather at Oak Glen for the Spring 2020 High School Sisters Conference. The general topic is "Being Watchful in Life and Faithful in Service." Please pray:

  • for the Lord to prepare the hearts of all of the high school sisters in Southern California;
  • that they would learn to spend time each day with the Lord to be filled with oil;
  • that they would be watchful to love the Lord, enjoy Him, and deal with their sins; and
  • that they would use the spiritual gifts the Lord has given them to be faithful in service and care for others.

FTTA-MA

The spring term of the Middle-age Training in Anaheim begins this week on March 9. The goal of the training is to foster living, functioning, overcoming members of the Body of Christ for the fulfillment of God's eternal purpose. Lord, release the saints from every restraint, and grace them inwardly to give themselves to begin or to continue this training and to fully respond to God's operation in them!

Germany

From March 15 to 18 there will be a retreat at Gut Elim for up to 60 full-timers from Germany and Switzerland. The burden of this time is for these saints to get refreshed both physically and spiritually, as well as have much prayer.

Scotland

Scotland is a constituent country of the United Kingdom. There are currently two lampstands, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The ground was taken in both localities in 2012; a meeting hall was purchased in Glasgow in 2014; renovations were completed early last year. From March 14 to 15 there will be a mini-conference in Glasgow with saints from the UK and Ireland. Up to 110 adults and 30 children are expected. The subject will be "Living the Christian Life Under the Government of God to Experience Christ and Grow in Life for God's Building."

Please join us in prayer for the Lord to bring the local saints and new ones to the conference and bless the time with His rich speaking and much blending. Also pray that the Lord would gain the local Scots, increase the churches in Edinburgh and Glasgow up to 80-100 saints, and spread His testimony to more cities in Scotland.

For a short video report of the Lord's recent move in Scotland, go to https://youtu.be/66hmq5Ie4hA.

Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan is a predominantly Muslim country at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. At present there are a dozen saints meeting regularly in the capital city, Baku, serving and coordinating in one accord, and taking every opportunity to establish gospel contacts. Despite many outward restrictions, the saints are looking to the Lord for His blessing and to establish His testimony in Azerbaijan.

Please pray for the saints' practice of the God-man living and the church life and for the gospel work, including contact with other Christian believers. Pray for the Lord to open up the proper channels for the distribution of the ministry. Lastly, please pray for the establishing of the church in Baku.

Prayer for the Current Situation

As God's people, let us continue to pray for the advance of the divine history within the human history. There are decisions to be made about continuing, modifying, or cancelling various meetings and trips. In some places churches cannot meet face-to-face but meetings continue via Internet. Colossians 1:9 says, "Therefore we also, since the day we heard of it, do not cease praying and asking on your behalf that you may be filled with the full knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding." Let us ask the Lord to fill the elders and co-workers around the earth with wisdom and understanding that the Lord's recovery may advance despite the current environment and its restrictions.

Knowing the Government of Our Righteous and Loving God

"Seeing that His divine power has granted to us all things which relate to life and godliness through the full knowledge of Him…" (2 Pet. 1:3)

"It is Jehovah your God who is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and lovingkindness to the thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments." (Deut. 7:9b)

God governs by judging; the judgment of God is the for the carrying out of His government. As believers in Christ, we need to realize that we are under God's government… As God is governing us, He supplies us with whatever we need; God grants us His provision so that we may cooperate with His government. (Crystallization-study of Deuteronomy, msg. 2, I.D, F.1)

We need to know God. In particular, we need to know that God is loving and that He is righteous in dealing with us. We also need to know that we ourselves are a failure. If we know this, we will no longer trust ourselves but put our trust in God, the One who is faithful. In spite of our failure in loving God and fearing Him and in spite of our unfaithfulness, God will be successful. No matter what the situation of His people may be, God will be faithful to the end, and eventually He will accomplish His intention that we enjoy His full blessing. (Life-study of Deuteronomy, msg. 2, pp. 18-19)

Spring SoCal YP Conferences

Praise the Lord for the upcoming Young People's Conferences this spring, which will all be held at Oak Glen Christian Conference Center. We encourage all the parents, serving ones and college students to pray for the openness of our junior high and high school students to the Lord and His speaking. Whether our young people are hearing these words again or for the first time, we pray that they would be prepared to enter into more of Christ as their good land and possess Him!

The dates, locations, and sign-up deadlines for the conferences are as follows:
1. High School Sisters, March 13 to 15. Deadline to register: March 1.
2. High School Brothers, March 20 to 22. Deadline to register: March 8.
3. Junior High Sisters, April 10 to 12. Deadline to register: March 29.
4. Junior High Brothers, April 17 to 19. Deadline to register: April 5.

FTTA-OL

The Online Full-Time Training (FTTA-OL) conducts the FTTA curriculum completely online. The hope that this online program will help the believers cultivate a habit of studying the truth through a lifelong pursuit. While some learners may complete all the courses in short period of time, the FTTA-OL is designed with the view that most saints will take one or two courses per year for the next fifteen to thirty years. More information is at http://www.onlineftta.org.

Each calendar year is divided into 5 terms. The 2020 Term B runs from March 11 to May 5. Please pray for every enrollee to be a diligent learner to help others learn and dig into the ministry materials. By the Lord's mercy, may more saints sanctify their time by studying God's Word and being constituted with the divine truth.

Germany

The German YP conference (for ages 11 to 18) will be at Gut Elim March 6 to 8. Pray for full participation by all who have registered and that none would be discouraged by any language weakness.

Gut Elim is a 25-acre property in central Germany with a blending facility which is gradually being improved to increase the capacity. Last week, there was a crucial inspection scheduled from the German foundation for the protection of historical buildings. This inspection was delayed to Wednesday, March 4. An approval means we will be able to move quickly to finish the work here; otherwise, we could be forced to close for an indefinite period. Please pray for no further delays and a fully successful inspection.

Southern Africa

The Southern Africa Weekend Conference will be March 7 to 8 in Midrand, South Africa. The subject will be "The Experience of Christ in Philippians and Colossians for the One New Man." Please pray:

  • for the release of the Lord's speaking;
  • for the participation of saints from the South African Development Community (SADC) region—which includes countries such as Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe—not only in the conference but also in one week of short-term training at the FTTP afterwards; and
  • for the Lord to bless the blending of the leading brothers who will meet before and during the conference to fellowship concerning the Lord's move in Southern Africa, followed by perfecting sessions from Lessons on the Eldership with brother Mark Raabe.

Prayer for the Current Situation

"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses every man's understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 4:6-7)

As God's people, let us pray for the advance of the divine history within human history. Let us pray for the people of this world and those in power. We need to be sober-minded and vigilant, but we do not need to panic or overreact. We believe "the heavens do rule" (Dan. 4:26) so that the environment might be fit for God's chosen people to receive His salvation. In these days of global uncertainty, may the Lord turn all anxieties to the advancement of the gospel. This is the environment for us to proclaim the gospel!

A Renewed Training in Enjoying and Keeping Christ

"All Scripture is God-breathed..." (2 Tim. 3:16a)

"...It is written, 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out through the mouth of God.'" (Matt. 4:4; cf. Deut. 8:3)

"But the word is very near to you, even in your mouth and in your heart…" (Deut. 30:14)

All the words in Deuteronomy are God's breathing, and God's breathing is altogether embodied in Christ. As we read Deuteronomy, we need to inhale all that God has exhaled, all that He has breathed out. By inhaling the divine breath in Deuteronomy, we will enjoy Christ, the embodiment of the divine breath. The more we receive the breath of the speaking God, the more we will enjoy Christ.

Whereas the children of Israel were charged to keep the commandments, statutes, and ordinances, we today need to keep Christ. By taking Christ, keeping Christ, and holding fast to Him, we will gain Him, enjoy Him, and live Him. We need to love Christ, keep Christ, teach Christ, wear Christ, and write Christ.

God was leading His people into the good land, a type of Christ, by Christ, and He was sustaining the on their way to the good land also by Christ, who is everything that proceeds out through the mouth of God. Every word in Deuteronomy is the very Christ, who is now the word of God for us to receive as our life and life supply. (Crystallization-study of Deuteronomy, msg. 1, III.B.2-4)

Much Fruit in LA to Glorify the Father

In John 15:7 the Lord said, "If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it shall come to pass to you." When we abide in the Lord and let His words abide in us, we are actually one with Him, and He is working within us. Then, whatever we ask, it is not only we who are praying but also He who is praying in our praying. This kind of prayer is related to fruit-bearing (v. 8) and surely it will be fulfilled.

Verse 8 says, "In this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit....We need to pray for much fruit-bearing that the Father may be glorified, that is, expressed, in the Son. In fruit-bearing the Father's divine life is expressed and so He is glorified. (Life-study of John, msg. 34, sec. 3)

Lord, keep us abiding in You and praying for much fruit in Los Angeles.

GTCA—Gospelize, Truthize, Churchize America

The basis for the Lord to accomplish His present move in this country is through the persevering prayers of the saints in one accord (Acts 1:14). Three directions of prayer are much needed: first, to persistently remind the Lord of His will as the watchmen in Isaiah 62:6-7; second, to intercede for the people and leaders in this country; and third, to beseech the Lord to thrust out laborers into the ripened harvest of middle America—specifically, for at least 300 saints (including 30 full-timers) to migrate to the 10 target cities in the United States. For more reports and information, please visit http://GTCA.us.

Zagreb, Croatia

Croatia is a country in Southeast Europe with over 4 million inhabitants. In November 2019, the Balkan Regional Conference was held in the capital, Zagreb, with 180 saints in attendance, many of whom were gained through the distribution of the ministry. On March 1, the first Lord's table will be taken in Zagreb. Please pray for a strong beginning to the Lord's testimony in the nation's largest city through the blending and fellowship in the Body.

Germany – Meeting Halls

Thank the Lord for His faithful care through the Body to meet the financial need for the purchase of the meeting hall in Berlin. Pray that in a timely way the Lord will grant the saints favor with the building authorities to enable them to renovate the new meeting hall to make it most useful for the Lord's interest.

The church in Stuttgart has found a place available for lease that can suit their needs. They have submitted to the owner a plan with renovations that would need to be made. Pray that the owner will accept their proposal at a reasonable and affordable price.

Malta

Ten saints from Germany visited the island nation of Malta from February 7 to 10. The people were warm and responsive. Over the course of two one-hour distributions, 155 English NTs and 200 copies of The Mystery of Human Life were given out. Gatherings with seeking people were held on each of the three evenings. On the Lord's Day morning there was a time of singing and prayer. Please pray that the three students who spent time with the visiting saints will attend the European University Conference in March, and ask the Lord to gain a local couple with an open home.

Prayer for the Current Situation

On Lord's Day, February 23, Chinese-speaking believers around the world observed a day of prayer for the current situation with regard to the coronavirus outbreak. Saints began to pray at midnight and continued in intervals of 15 minutes or more for 24 hours. They prayed for an end to the epidemic, peace in the people's hearts, and the Lord's move in China. Many testified of the Lord's presence in their prayer.

Several more countries (including Korea, Japan, and Italy) are now seeing a significant increase in virus-related cases. We need to take up the corporate priesthood to stop the pestilence by prayer. Now it is a critical time to rise up in one accord to pray for prevention and containment not only in China, but all over the earth. At the same time, while the black horse of pestilence is running rampant, let us pray to release the white horse of the gospel to first conquer people's hearts and bring them to salvation.

"The earth is Jehovah's, and its fullness, the habitable land and those who dwell in it." (Psa. 24:1)

Having the New Man in a Practical Way

"And let the peace of Christ arbitrate in your hearts, to which also you were called in one Body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God." (Col. 3:15-16)

In the new man there is room only for Christ; He is all the members of the new man and in all the members; He is everything in the new man. If we would live Christ as the constituent of the new man, we need to be ruled by the peace of Christ (vv. 12-15) and inhabited by the word of Christ (vv. 16-17). Through the arbitration of the peace of Christ, our problems are solved, and the friction between the saints disappears; then the church life is preserved in sweetness, and the new man is maintained in a practical way. By allowing the word of God to inhabit us, we can become a proper human being, a God-man filled with Christ as the reality of the attributes of God.

If we allow the peace of Christ to arbitrate in us and if we are filled with the word of Christ, we shall have the new man in a practical way; all the saints in all the churches throughout the Lord's recovery will be living Christ in the one new man. (Knowing and Experiencing the All-inclusive, Extensive Christ, msg. 6, II.A, C, 1.c.(1), 2.c, 3)

Memorial Day Conference

The 2020 International Memorial Day Conference will be May 22 to 25 in Atlanta, GA. Conference and hotel information is at https://churchinlosangeles.org/prayer. Saints are encouraged to make their hotel reservations as soon as possible if they do plan to attend, and to only reserve the number of rooms at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis that they intend to use, because cancelled rooms will no longer be available to others at the discounted group rate.

For saints from LA and Santa Clarita who plan to attend, please RSVP at http://tinyurl.com/memdayla by April 28. Children need to be registered in advance.

Please pray that the Lord will take more crucial steps in the advancement of His purpose during this gathering. Also pray that many would be released and empowered to attend.

FTTA

The FTTA spring term begins this week. Ask the Lord to richly supply each trainee and to speak specifically within each one for their growth into Him. From LA we have three new trainees.

GTCA

As the sowing trips to the GTCA cities concluded last week, there is the need to persevere in prayer for the saints following up with all those contacted over the past few weeks. Pray that they would be bountifully supplied by the Spirit of Jesus Christ to carry out this long-term labor. Please also pray for at least 300 saints (including 30 full-timers) to migrate to the 10 target cities in the US.

In addition, last week the co-workers in North America coordinating for GTCA released a new letter calling on all the dear saints to rise up with a fresh burden to intercede in prayer for His move in this country. The co-workers outlined three directions of prayer that are much needed at this time: first, to persistently remind the Lord of His will as the watchmen in Isaiah 62:6-7; second, to intercede for the people and leaders in the United States; and third, to beseech the Lord to thrust out laborers into the ripened harvest of middle America.

In order to arrive at a strong testimony throughout this country, especially in the so-called "Bible Belt," and for the needed migration to the strategic GTCA cities, we must first and foremost pray. As Watchman Nee said, "Why do we work so much, and pray so little, when we can accomplish much more by prayer than by our work?" The basis for the Lord to accomplish His present move is through the persevering prayers of the saints in one accord (Acts 1:14).

To read this letter and the latest reports from the sowing trips, please visit http://GTCA.us.

Hamburg, Germany

The first Lord's table meeting in Hamburg will take place February 23. This will be the first table meeting in Hamburg since the ground was lost in the 1980s. The burden to recover the Lord's table has been in the saints' hearts for many years, and this past year, the Lord has moved quickly to strengthen the local testimony through the migrating saints and the recovery of local saints. This meeting and the subsequent lunch will be a time of rejoicing and blending of many saints in or near Germany. Thank the Lord for His spread in Germany!

Angola

Angola is a Portuguese-speaking country with over 25 million people located on the west coast of Southern Africa. At present, there are over 350 saints meeting on the ground of oneness in various localities, including Uige and the capital city, Luanda. In recent years, the saints in Angola have benefitted much from increased contact with the churches in South Africa and each year some saints attend the conferences for Southern Africa held in Pretoria.

Last month, there was a two-week perfecting training for Portuguese-speaking saints hosted by FTT Pretoria. It was another step for the Lord's move in Angola: 17 saints from Angola attended, and the goal was to perfect them so that they could perfect others. Trainees came from Angola, Mozambique, São Tomé, and South Africa. It was a marvelous blending!

Please pray for the perfecting work started in that time to continue during the upcoming bi-annual blending conference in Angola from February 22 to 23. Pray for the safe travel of the saints and the Lord's timely word to be released. Pray also for more up-to-date ministry materials to get into the saints' hands, and for the Lord to send out visitation teams to more cities to preach the gospel of the kingdom.

India

Pray for the new term of FTT New Delhi, that the Lord will strengthen the 10 new trainees beginning first term. Pray also for all the continuing trainees to be perfected and to advance further in truth, life, service and character in order to be useful to the Master.

Prayer for the Current Situation

Please continue to be strong in spirit and take up the whole armor of God to pray for the current situation with regard to the coronavirus outbreak. We need to take up the corporate priesthood to stop the pestilence by prayer. At the same time, while the black horse of pestilence is running rampant, we need to pray to release the white horse to first conquer people's hearts and bring them to salvation.

Pray for all the saints to be covered and those afflicted to be preserved. Pray particularly for the saints in China to seize this opportunity to preach the good news of the gospel to their friends and relatives. May the Lord gain the victory, His enemies be put to shame, the church be built up, and God be glorified!
